                             “Made in Cyprus”

                     The road trip

A team of 11 companies represented Cyprus at an exhibition that took place on the 28th - 30th of November 2014 in China at “The First Maritime Silk Road International Brand Expo, Quanzhou, China.  The exposition was sponsored by the China Chamber of International Commerce, and was co-sponsored by the Economic Information Department of CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade).

The organizers of the Expo invited World Trade Center Cyprus to take part and represent our country with the aim to promote trade between Cypriot companies and companies from across the world and more specifically China. One of the services provided by World Trade Center Cyprus is to take part in and organize trade missions and therefore participates in Outbound and Inbound missions (which involves linking local businesses to target markets abroad and vice versa).

More than 20000 guests visited the expo, of which a big percentage visited the “Made in Cyprus” Pavilion. The Cypriot team was honoured to be invited to several meetings and dinners hosted by some very important organizations, one of which was the President of the World Trade Center Quanzhou. The president of the CCPIT was also invited to present Cyprus as an International Business hub for Investment Opportunities as well as to present Cyprus as a Country that someone should invest in and visit.  

The “Made in Cyprus” team was represented by estate development companies, law firms, metal constructions and products, shop systems, plumbing, insurance, wine and spirits, and bartending school services. Throughout the trip our Cypriot companies had the opportunity to come into contact with local and other international businesses in their field. The aim was to promote our country’s products and services and this was accomplished with great success.
